The Arts, Recreation & Community Policies Committee reviews policy associated with the arts, recreation, community programs, health and safety, emergency planning, social services (children’s services, day care, housing, long-term care), by-law and animal control enforcement.
The Administrative Policies Committee reviews City policies regarding accounting, assets, human resources, and meetings
The Arts Advisory Committee is an avenue of communication and consultation between the arts community (art, music, dance, performance, literature, film, craft and other arts) and the municipal government.
The goal of this Committee is to provide advice on the following items:
- Capital upgrades to the Kingston Memorial Centre site and related facilities/amenities.
- Future developments and plans for the Kingston Memorial Centre site and facilities/amenities.
- Community partnerships and programs
This Board oversees the operations of the Kingston Frontenac Housing Corporation. It is composed of three municipal representatives, tenant and public appointments serving a one-year term.
The Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee (MAAC) is legislated by the Province of Ontario under the Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2001 (AODA) and reports to Council on accessibility issues faced by people with disabilities. It is made up of one Council representative and 14 volunteers, the majority of whom are residents with disabilities.
